Home → A Pound for the Pantry
Did you know?
Every month, the Richland Wilkin Emergency Food Pantry serves over 100 families in need. Fresh produce is often the most underrepresented food item, and is oftentimes the most appreciated.
You can help
At the next market, look for the "A Pound for the Pantry" banner. Near it will be a drop box. While you are doing your shopping, consider buying a little extra and donating it to the pantry. All items left in the drop box will be taken to the pantry at the end of the market day.
Can the pantry accept produce? Will it be used?
Yes. All donations will be distributed to local families in need. If a recipient does not know how to prepare a certain item, suggestions will be given by food pantry volunteers or another item will be substituted.
Why are you doing this?
Equal access to fresh and healthy food should be a goal that every community strives for. No one should go hungry. We want to share the abundance that we see at the market every week with those in need.
This initiative is part of the Hunger Free North Dakota project.
